Yachts: Greenwich Yacht Club

Owners of yachts up to fifteen metres are welcome at Sail Royal Greenwich and can book a  berth at the legendary Greenwich Yacht Club on the Thames. This yacht club established in 1908. You can book a berth for a minimum period of six nights throughout Sail Royal Greenwich.

tidal harbour access

The moorings are located on the tidal Thames, the ships will be constricted by this with the summer tides ranging between four and seven meters. The ships will be moored to buoys at the front and rear. The nearest tube station; North Greenwich is within walking distance and of course there are many of the Olympic venues within a few stops. In addition there will also be a cable car service from North Greenwich directly to the Excel centre (Royal Docks).

right in the centre of it

Through the unique collaboration between multiple parties involved in the Greenwich Festivals, guests will enjoy all the beauty that London in the summer of 2012 has to offer.

Facilities

There will be facilities available for the ships at their moorings; and for the sailors, home comforts; such as showers and restaurants are located at the Greenwich Yacht Club and the VIP Camp Site (Oranje Camping) just next door.

fares and booking information

From beginning December, 2011 you will be able to reserve these moorings. Prices are still TBC although an indication is approximately £500 per night per yacht.

Motor vessels: Millwall Inner & Outer Dock

For vessels up to eight metres maximum height we can, in collaboration with British Waterways offer you moorings in Millwall Dock (near Canary Wharf). The height restriction is due to the dock's bridge access. This dock is accessible from the Thames and through a large lock can accommodate ships of various sizes. Moorings can be reserved for a minimum of six nights through Sail Greenwich Ltd. West India Dock is available only to large vessels, our ships including the Clipper Stad Amsterdam and the Swedish replica Götheborg will be moored here.

On-water facilities are in place but availability is limited, accessibility to Olympics venues is very good. Around the dock are several tube and DLR stations within walking distance easily accessible.

Mooring holders are welcome to join our Parade of Sail

On July 25 a grand parade will be held from the coastal sea, to London, to mark the opening of Sail Royal Greenwich. All mooring holders from July 25 in the port of London, are cordially invited to participate in this spectacle.

People with no moorings in London will not be allowed on the Thames

Because of all the safety measures and the expected crowds, the Maritime Authorities of the UK have decided that the Thames will only be accessible to ships that have a mooring, and you will need proof of this. For more information visit: http://www.pla.co.uk/

The moorings at Millwall Dock and Marina Peninsula during the period July 25 2012 to August 12 2012 are available in blocks of six or seven nights.  Please contact us for more information and we will book these for you.
