All the Tall Ships on this website are available for booking during the Sail Greenwich Tall Ships Regatta 2014. They are divided into two groups: those available for Cruises and those availbale for Deck Parties. If you have a ticket for the Thames Tall Ship Cruise you will be sailing on one of the cruises. It is not yet certain exactly which ships will be used for each cruise.

 

 

The Tall Ships

The mid-twentieth century saw an international campaign for the preservation of the last remaining large sailing ships of the late 19th and early 20th century. There was a strong cultural and economic desire for the continuation of old maritime traditions and seamanship.

The current crop of Tall Ships dating back to the great era of Sail has in recent decades grown. Classic sailing ships like the authentic Loth Loriën feature among their number. Reflecting their unique place in the modern world, new ships built to traditional specifications, still join the international traditional sailing fleet; the magnificent barkentine Thalassa among them. With a true international flavour the Royal Greenwich Tall Ships Regatta 2014 fleet will be a proud symbol of multi-national cooperation.
